THE NURTURER

Nurturing is primarily a woman’s role. She is the heart of family life. She’s the nest builder, peace keeper, heart mender, and teacher.

Nurturers must be multi-taskers! Being a multi-tasker, one can’t have too many hands. Judy remembers wishing for an extra pair of hands to wipe tears and behinds, do mending, give multiple hugs, nurse a sick child and play cards with a demanding spouse- all at the same time.

Alice was a caretaker from an early age: of a much younger brother and of parents who were young when they died. Her experience prepared her for nurturing a husband, children and grandchildren, to this day. And she still sometimes wishes for more hands- and an eight day week!
